D A V I D PETER W E B B
KEYBOARDS
I first was introduced to Jimmy's music
while cruising down the road with another songwriter I used to work with.
We were listening to Jimmy's "highway angels" cassette and thought the
music was pretty hellacious and that this guy could really sing. Then,
I promptly forgot about it...
A couple of years later, I was waiting to take a shower at the Kerrville
Folk Festival at 6AM when a fellow came in with a 6 pack and offered
me a beer It was Jimmy's guitarist, Larry Wilson. After a brief chat,
he gave me his number and told me to call if I ever came back to Austin.
I moved to Austin several months later and somehow became a member
of Night Tribe. My life has never been the same...
I performed with Jimmy from 1991-1994.After a break of several
years in North Florida with stints in Nashvile and Aiken,S.C.,
Jimmy and the universe saw fit to bring me back to the Tribe.
It is a joy and honor to be back...

"I met Jimmy through guitarist Larry Wilson who told me to show up for a gig in Johnson City and just play! I love those kinds of gigs, without rehearsal or even meeting anyone beforehand. The on-the-spotness of it all, the tension and the surprise keeps one very much in the moment, I like that! I had to keep things very simple and that approach is what still works today with Jimmy. The song is the thing and less is more with him. Jimmy is a beautiful songwriter and his work speaks for itself. I love playing our shows and being able to play for people who want to HEAR the music and let it take them to their own private place, something a really good song can do."
Born May 7, 1961 in Boston, Massachusetts

I love yoga and meditation, spending time with my girlfriend and eating foods from around the world. The band likes the Turkey farm on I-35 and the Czech-stop too.
I just recently returned from Italy and found myself craving good Texas BBQ!
Thanks to all of Jimmy's fans for the continued support. It's a pleasure to perform for you! |
